The regulation is formulated specially for ensure that academic
symposiums are regularly and orderly held for the purpose of academic
exchanges and extension of influences of the center. The regulation
is divided into two parts, academic conferences and academic symposiums.
Academic Conferences
Item 1 If funds permit, in principle, a domestic or international
conference is to be held once in two years. The domestic and international
academic conference should be held alternatively.
Item 2 The topics to be discussed at the academic conferences
should based on the major topics that are studied in the center
in specific period, and have far-reaching character. The interests
and conditions of related scholars should also be taken into consideration.
Item 3 Any member of the center has the right to propose an academic
conference whose topic has been determined. The proposal approved
by the director of the center should be submitted to expert committee
for full discussion. The international academic conference should
not be reported to the school until it is discussed and approved
by academic committee.
Item 4 The academic conferences approved by school should be prepared
by personnel appointed by the director. Under the guidance of
principle that the quality of the conference should be ensured
and the funds should economized on, related personnel should properly
make specific procedure of the conference and arrange the reception
guests who attend the conference to ensure that the conference
is to be successfully held on schedule.
Item 5 After the conference, the center should organize related
experts to assess the results and influences of the conference.
Item 6 Whether the academic conference is held regularly is taken
as one of the standards for the assessment of the director's achievements.
Academic Symposiums
Item 1 When the research of the center has an academically outstanding
finding, and funds permit, related academic symposiums can be
held.
Item 2 Any research personnel has the right to propose an academic
symposium whose topic has been determined. The proposal approved
by the director should be submitted to expert committee for full
discussion. It will not be reported to related organization of
school until it is discussed and approved by expert committee.
Item 3 One or two research person appointed by the director is
in charge of the academic symposiums approved by school. Persons
in charge should draft a written plan for the detailed schedule
and budget items during the decided period according to the topics
to be discussed and the aim of the symposium. The plan should
be feasible, esp. ensure that the symposium is to be successfully
held on schedule and related research persons attend the symposium.
Item 4 During preparatory and holding period, related persons
in charge should report the development of the symposium to the
director, vice-director of the center and the director in charge
of the symposium. The director should examine various aspects
of the symposium.
Item 5 After the symposium, the center should organize related
experts to completely assess the achievements and influences of
the symposium.
Item 6 Whether the symposium is held successfully is taken as
one of the standards for assessing the achievements of person
in charge and the director in charge of the symposium.
