1. Research on Corporate Governance Theory
The Centre has been working on the establishment of China's Corporate Governance theory system and has expanded the research area from Corporate Governance to Enterprise Governance and Enterprise Groups Governance. In the light of China's national conditions, the Centre has carried out innovative researches on such subjects as the Governance of Public-listings, the Governance of Transnational Corporations, the Governance of Non-state-owned Enterprises and the Governance of Network Organizations. In the last three years within this area, the Centre has assumed more than 20 national and provincial or ministry projects supported by the Foundation of National Social Sciences and the National Natural Sciences Foundation of China, etc. Also in this area, the Centre has published 10 monographs and more than 50 papers inside and outside China, and has obtained more than 10 Awards from above provincial or ministry level.

2. Research on Practice and Application of Corporate Governance Theory
Based on the Corporate Governance Theory Research, the Centre persists in providing strategic decision choices to government and services to enterprise practice. The Centre places emphasis on application of theory in practice. While doing research on Corporate Governance Principles, Enterprise Groups Governance, Transnational Corporation Governance and Corporate Governance Evaluation System, the Centre has countered significant realistic problems by making the following development and achievements. The Center had carried out empirical investigation of about 1,400 corporations, published more than 20 papers and monographs and completed 21 investigation reports, obtained over 4 Awards from above provincial or ministry level. This series of achievements respectively provided the government or supervision divisions or corporations with support and direction on policy-making, supervision system construction or corporate governance decision-making.

3. Research on Corporate Governance and Management Innovation
With the support of the School of International Business, the Centre has made use of the overlapping advantage of the branch of learning of Business Administration. The Centre takes Corporate Governance as its mainstream research subject, develops innovative research on Enterprise Growth and Growing Enterprise Governance, Corporate Investment and Financing Management Strategies based on Corporate Governance, Human Resources Management under the Reform Framework of Corporate Governance, etc. In this third research area, the Centre assumed over 20 projects and published over 30 papers and monographs, and obtained 8 Awards from above provincial or ministry level. As a forerunner inside and outside China, the Centre has broadened the relevant research areas to "Mergence of Governance and Management", "Culture---Ethics and the Construction of Moral Quality of Corporations" and "Corporate Governance Strategies", etc. The Centre has enlarged the width and depth of Corporate Governance Research and enriched the theoretical and practical connotation of Corporate Governance Research.
